About the Author:

Sandra Martins-Toner is the Founder and the Executive Director of Families Against Crime & Trauma, (F.A.C.T), an organization born as a result of the random and senseless murder of her sixteen year old son. Sandra now works tirelessly to help others that have lost a loved one to a violent  crime. Her articles appear regularly in magazines and online publications across Canada. Sandra has witnessed firsthand the imbalance in the Canadian Justice System , and believes it’s time to see the rights of the victims supersede those of the offenders.
